ISLE OF WIGHT INFLAMMATORY ARTHRITIS
EDUCATION WORKSHOP
Have you been diagnosed with either Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis or Ankylosing Spondylitis within the last year?
If you have and you are a patient seen in the Isle of Wight Rheumatology Department then the Rheumatology Team would like to invite you to attend one of our Inflammatory Arthritis Education Workshops.
The aim of the workshop is to help newly diagnosed patients gain a better understanding of their arthritis and to dispel any myths surrounding their condition. Hopefully this will then help them to feel more confident in living with and managing their arthritis.
The workshops are run and hosted by the Rheumatology Team and some of the topics discussed are:
The workshop lasts approximately 3 hours. Refreshments are provided on the day. All attendees are allowed to bring along one adult family member or friend with them on the day. (Sorry no children).
To be eligible to attend you must have been diagnosed with your inflammatory arthritis within the last year and you must be a registered patient with the Isle of Wight Rheumatology Department. If you meet this criteria and would like to attend one of our workshops then please speak to Liane Worth (Rheumatology Clinical Nurse Specialist) when you attend your next Rheumatology appointment.

- Understanding your arthritis
- Medication and Treatments - This includes Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drugs (DMARDS), Steroids, Biologics, Pain relief and Complimentary Therapy's
- Managing pain and fatigue
